This month, we’re pausing our usual featured business spotlight to offer a heartfelt thank you to every business that supported Where Christmas Comes Together. The way Galashiels came together - promoting the campaign, displaying materials, getting involved in activities and championing the town - made this year’s festive season something truly special. Together, we created something the whole community could be proud of.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to our sponsors, whose support helped make the campaign possible:
Main Sponsor: BID for Galashiels
Silver Sponsor: SPG Fire & Security Ltd
Bronze Sponsors: R Mitchell (Glass) Ltd, RBS Builders, TIJ Barbers, The Salmon Inn, Mobility Scooter Repairs & Advice, The Colourful Edit, MEH Builders, Derek Watson at McGill Mortgages, Scott Cranston, Travel Lightly, Dental Accountant

We also want to acknowledge the businesses who generously donated work in kind towards the project. Your creativity, time and resources played a key role in bringing the campaign to life:

Elliot Henderson Ltd – provided the stage
Craigs Skippy – provided the skip
Aaron Briggs at Booker Galashiels – provided water
Pavilion Cinema Galashiels – provided advertising
Alex Dalgetty & Sons – provided baked goods
Hike & Bike Hub, Galashiels SCIO SC 051989 and Cycling Without Age Scotland Galashiels – took Santa on a tour of Gala
McDonald’s – hosted Santa and provided a Happy Meal

The Salmon Inn – provided accommodation for True Taylor and the event command centre
Stuart Wilson, Kevin Andison and Ian Calder – supported the Christmas lights
Mitchell Glass - vans for logistics
SPG - light access equipment
Howdens Insurance - lights insurance
Graeme McIver – served as MC

And a huge thank you to the teams who went above and beyond:
Police Scotland – especially PC Gary Froud for support on the day, and PC Tara Elms for guidance throughout the planning stages.
SBC Safety Advisory Group – for their invaluable advice and support.
Parks & Environment Team at SBC – especially Natasha and Graeme, for their exceptional support in delivering the event.
Plus, a special thanks also to Melissa from Honey Be Bright, who created the illustrations used across the campaign and designed our town trail.
And by no means least – a thank you to all the volunteers who gave their time and energy - including our BID Directors who work in a voluntary capacity and truly gave 110% - thank you.
Thank you to every business who stood behind the campaign. Your support shows exactly what can be achieved when the town works together - and we look forward to building on that spirit in the year ahead.
