Celebrating the People Who Make Things Happen for Galashiels

Our recent Galashiels Volunteer Celebration brought together around 35 people, including both existing volunteers and those interested in getting involved.

Organised in partnership with Energise Galashiels Trust, Galashiels Community Council and Galashiels Town Team, the afternoon was a chance to make new connections, hear about opportunities across the town and, importantly, find out what would help people volunteer their time in the future.

Volunteers are behind a huge amount of what happens in Galashiels. They support events, community projects, local organisations and initiatives that make the town a better place to live, work and visit. Even our BID Board is entirely voluntary, with local business representatives giving their time to help guide our work on behalf of levy-payers.

We came away with some really useful feedback and ideas for what comes next. Thank you to everyone who joined us – and to all those already giving their time to Galashiels.
