Galashiels has plenty to celebrate once again, with local businesses, venues, and young people continuing to shine.
Tony’s Galashiels – Congratulations to Tony’s on being named a Mealzo Hidden Gem, recognising their fantastic food and loyal local following. They’re clearly keeping up the momentum - there was a queue out the door recently for their £5 menu!

The Great Tapestry of Scotland – Huge congratulations to the team at the tapestry on winning the South of Scotland Thistle Award for Inclusion. This achievement now takes them forward to the National Thistle Awards in November - a wonderful recognition of their commitment to accessibility and community engagement.

MacArts – A round of applause for MacArts, named by The Scotsman as one of Scotland’s best music venues. This is a brilliant acknowledgment of their dedication to live music and culture here in Galashiels. Check out their Spotify playlist here to hear what’s coming up for the rest of 2025 and discover some of the incredible acts heading our way.
Pavilion Cinema – The Pavilion recently hosted a sell-out advance screening of I Swear, telling the inspiring story of John Davidson. If you missed it, don’t worry - the film is now on general release, so there’s still time to catch this remarkable Borders story on the big screen.

Memribelia – Galashiels Academy Young Enterprise Congratulations to Memribelia, winners of the Galashiels SOUP on 26th of September with their fantastic business idea. The next SOUP event takes place at Café Recharge on 27th of November, and we can’t wait to see which local project takes the spotlight next.

Together, these successes reflect the pride and momentum building across Galashiels - a town full of talent, innovation, and heart.
