This year saw the first dedicated Learning at Work Week delivered by BID for Galashiels - a programme of workshops, events and business support activities developed in response to feedback from our levy payers.
Topics included social media marketing, AI, funding opportunities and general business development, with sessions taking place across the town throughout the week. The aim was to provide practical, relevant support in areas businesses told us they wanted help with.
It was great to see local businesses taking time out of their busy schedules to get involved, learn something new and connect with other business owners.

Just as importantly, the conversations throughout the week have given us plenty to build on. Businesses shared ideas on how support could be delivered in future, including more personalised opportunities, continued support for the retail sector and ways of bringing advice and expertise directly into businesses, alongside workshops and events.
Much of this thinking is already shaping future activity, including our newly launched Retail Resilience Pilot Programme – read more here.
Learning at Work Week marked an important step in BID for Galashiels' commitment to providing business development opportunities that complement the excellent support already available through organisations such as South of Scotland Enterprise and other key partners.
The week demonstrated the appetite that exists within our business community to learn, develop and grow. We're excited to build on that momentum and continue expanding the support available to levy payers in the months and years ahead.
