Our Christmas Plans 2025

Our Project Manager, volunteer Board, community members, and partner organisations have been working closely to bring festive activity and energy into the heart of Galashiels. Together, we’re creating a Christmas season that celebrates the town, supports local businesses, and draws visitors to shop, eat, and enjoy everything Galashiels has to offer.

This year’s campaign – Where Christmas Comes Together – embraces the true spirit of partnership that sits at the heart of BID for Galashiels. We hope to see everyone working together to build a better Galashiels, and what better time to come together than at Christmas. We’ve sent BID members a copy of the campaign logo – if you can include the logo in your own festive promotions, that would be fantastic. If you haven’t received a copy, just get in touch and we’ll make sure you have everything you need.

We also want to help promote a full town-wide festive programme. Events can be added free of charge to the Galashiels Heartland website over the festive period, so please contact us to have your activity included. Let’s make sure everyone knows what’s happening across town this Christmas.

A Festive Gala – Saturday 29^th of November

A full day of festive fun from 10am to 6pm, including live performances, markets, creative activities, and the grand tree light-up. This will be a major footfall driver and a brilliant opportunity for businesses to welcome new and returning customers.

Late Night Christmas Shopping – Thursday 11th of December

We’re inviting all local retailers and hospitality venues to take part. If you’re opening late, running offers, or hosting something special, let us know so we can help promote your business as part of the event. The more who take part, the greater the buzz across the town centre.

Christmas Shopping Trail – 22nd of November to 31st of December

A family-friendly trail designed to bring people into multiple local shops, boosting visibility and encouraging spending across town throughout the festive season.
