We love seeing people putting time and creativity into making their premises look their best, and Little Art Hub has done just that with its new signage - designed and created by the team themselves.
It’s a great example of how small changes can make a frontage more eye-catching, welcoming and give people passing by a reason to take notice.
It also links nicely with our Vacant Shop Academy work. Creating a thriving town centre can be a bit of a chicken-and-egg situation - attractive, well-cared-for premises help make the town a more appealing place to visit, which in turn helps attract new businesses and investment. The more we can make our existing units look active and inviting, the stronger the overall impression of Galashiels becomes.

Take a fresh look at your frontage:
When did you last stand outside and look at your premises as a customer would? There are plenty of simple things that can make a difference:
Add pots, planters or seasonal touches around your entrance.
Change your window displays regularly so there’s always something new to notice.
Try an A-board or fun pavement sign – a little personality can encourage people to stop.
Make sure your opening hours and what you offer are obvious from outside.
Remove old posters, stickers and notices that can quickly make windows feel cluttered.
Think about lighting, particularly as we head towards the darker months.
You don’t need a big budget or a complete shopfront makeover to make an impact. Little Art Hub is a great reminder that a little creativity, regular attention and a fresh pair of eyes can go a long way.
